About project

The Action’s overall objective is to foster LNG use for roads across Europe, therefore significantly contributing to the European alternative fuels implementation strategy. The Action, including a study and a real-life pilot deployment, is implemented on the road core network in Slovakia, on the Rhine-Danube Core Network Corridor. To deliver on the overall objective of the Action, there are two specific objectives, which will be met by carrying out eight defined activities within the Action.

Solutions

Deploy and operate a pilot comprising real-life trial of 15 mono-fuelled LNG buses together with one LNG refuelling station located in Zvolen in Slovakia on the road core network (activities 4, 5 and 6). The pilot will provide through the evaluation of usage data an understanding of customers' needs and attitude to LNG, and will respond to their expectations by removing existing technological, commercial and acceptance barriers, eventually encouraging a switch to LNG and enabling the rise of its Slovak and European markets.
